Magicians Without Borders

Informational video on Magicians Without Borders (MWB)

Colombia: Ryan is the founder (2012) and former program director of MWB Colombia (2012-2013). His students in Colombia have given TEDx talks, performed in NYC, and even have their own business called Por Arte De Magia. The long-term success of the program in Colombia is a result of the hard work of Carlos Lopez who continues weekly magic classes (and much more). Learn more about MWB Colombia here.

India: Ryan spent 3 months in India on behalf of MWB in 2014. There, he made connections with local magicians who continue to teach students between trips. These students are daughters of commercial sex workers from the brutal brothels of Mumbai. Their magic skills have instilled the confidence they need to stay away from the brothels and continue with their education. Learn more about MWB India here.

El Salvador: Ryan spent 1 month in El Salvador on behalf of MWB in 2015. There, he mentored two of the MWB’s very first students, Maricela and Peter to start their own program of teaching magic to disadvantaged youth. Ryan set up a partnership with Glasswing International to help facilitate the program. Maricela and Peter continue to teach weekly classes and their students are developing into confident young magicians. Learn more about MWB El Salvador here.
